St. Francis Retreat continues supporting the surrounding communities and the needs of it's retreatants, while recovering from the fire which destroyed the original 160 year old ranch house, last June.

St. Francis Retreat Center is located on the outskirts of the historic and quaint town of San Juan Bautista.

A multi-use retreat facility owned and operated by the Franciscan Friars of California. Our purpose is to offer a place of spiritual growth, healing and renewal, both personal and communal. We offer our own programs for spiritual enrichment and growth in the Christian way of life. We provide a vital community resource to various ecclesial, educational and other professional helping groups to reflect upon their own respective aims and goals. We extend the Franciscan tradition of hospitality in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

The Casita, our little house at the end of the lake is now the Brothers home.
A large chapel -holds up to 150 people - for prayer and worship services. Spacious grounds- a four acre lake - and a haven for a wide variety of birds and wild life. Quality meals, friendly staff, gift and book shop, volleyball and basketball court. To promote an atmosphere of quiet there are no telephones or TVs in the guest rooms. Public pay phones are available in the Ranch House lobby. Some AV equipment is available for use.
